MODern Poetry
As I wander the halls of this sacred site,
Whether during the day or the wee hours of night.
I sometimes encounter behaviours that shock,
That make my skin crawl or make my jaw drop.
Some funny, some sad, some give pause for thought,
Some folks I admire and some, I do not.
I see talents which show me the world is endowed,
And how refreshing to have them here in this crowd.
And though just an image or some text on a page,
I see some behaviours that get me enraged.
This isn't Hollywood, and we need no directors,
And barking your orders will only get you defectors.
Some people treat women as if they were stupid,
And think that their bullshit has the power of Cupid.
We all have opinions and choices, it's true,
What you witness or hear may not be pleasing to you.
There's an “x” at the top of your page on the right,
Use it instead of verbalizing your blight.
I once saw one woman showing her claws,
Criticizing another for the choice of her bra.
The viewers cared less about the bra she was wearing,
And were focused on escalating this woman's daring.
Since when has this site been the Haute of Couture?
What Fashion God died and made you *Anna Wintour?
There are those who prefer to use this site as a pulpit,
A venue for moralizing, and saving sinning culprits.
Who are you to judge the actions of others?
Use the “x” at the top if you have other druthers.
Like you, they have chosen a lifestyle that suits,
If you don't approve, keep your opinions on mute.
Be respectful of those who choose what to show,
And see just how far some respect will go.
THEY are the boss and choose what to do,
They don't need orders or instructions from you.
Show some decorum ; it can pass for "class",
Or else be prepared for a boot up your ass.
